CHOSEN Secures $1.2M Seed Funding for Skincare Expansion

CHOSEN, a skincare startup based in Chennai, has successfully secured USD 1.2 million in seed funding from friends and family. Additionally, the company received an equity-free grant of USD 100,000 from Peak XV Partners via the SPARK program, which is dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs.

Dr. Renita Rajan, the founder of CHOSEN, expressed her enthusiasm about the new investments: “This seed funding allows us the flexibility to strategically broaden our operations and pursue new growth opportunities. We are looking to establish partnerships with the B2B sectors including hospitality, health, travel, and leisure to widen our distribution networks. Our aim is to raise between USD 10 to USD 20 million in pre-series funding later this year.”

CHOSEN, established by cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Renita Rajan, is distinguished for its commitment to producing safe and effective skincare solutions. The brand presently features 34 Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) and is developing 12 more products. Over the next 18 months, several new products are slated to be launched, including lines tailored for pregnant and nursing mothers.

Dr. Rajan reiterated the company’s core mission: “At CHOSEN, our focus is on providing long-term, safe, and effective wellness solutions. We design our products to deliver sustained benefits, which shows our commitment to quality and innovation.”
