During a TV interview, Pradeep Gupta, the chairman and managing director of Axis My India, was visibly emotional after the results of the Lok Sabha elections deviated significantly from his company's exit poll predictions. The counting trends indicated that the ruling NDA was leading with 290 seats, while the BJP was ahead in 239 seats. This was a stark contrast to the Axis My India's prediction of a landslide victory for the NDA, ranging between 361 to 401 seats.

Previously, Axis My India had anticipated a dominant performance for the BJP, aligning with the BJP’s ambitious '400 paar' campaign slogan. This was also expected to be one of the largest mandates for the BJP, as suggested by several analysts. However, the actual results showed the BJP performing below these expectations.

Furthermore, the INDIA bloc, which Axis My India had projected to win between 131 to 166 seats, was actually leading in 235 seats according to the latest updates from the Election Commission of India by 6 pm on election day.

During the election panel discussion on TV, Gupta's emotional response was noticeable as he struggled to hold back tears, prompting the anchor and fellow panelists to console him. Earlier, in a discussion with ANI, Gupta defended his firm's track record, noting that out of the 69 elections they had polled, their predictions had been accurate 65 times, benefiting various opposition parties, including the Congress, on several occasions. He emphasized that this track record should attest to the credibility of their predictions.
