Boeing Launches 2024-25 BUILD Programme for Indian Graduates and Startups

Applications Open: Boeing has launched the fourth edition of its Boeing University Innovation Leadership Development (BUILD) programme for 2024-25, targeting university graduates and early-stage startup entrepreneurs in India.

Launch Event: The event featured 40 angel investors and venture capitalists reviewing startup ideas from past BUILD winners, offering exposure and investment opportunities to support the development of innovative concepts.

  • Salil Gupte, President of Boeing India & South Asia: Emphasized the programme's expansion over the past four years and its role in fostering innovation, with strong support from VCs, angel investors, and incubators.

Partners: Boeing is collaborating with seven incubators across India, including IIT-Mumbai, IIT-Delhi, IIT-Gandhinagar, IIT-Madras, IISc-Bengaluru, T-Hub Hyderabad, and KIIT Bhubaneswar, to organize the BUILD programme.

Application Focus: The programme invites ideas in aerospace and defence, technology, social impact, and sustainability, encouraging participants to explore innovative solutions in these areas.

Process & Rewards: Applications will be evaluated and shortlisted for regional-level boot camps. Finalists will pitch their ideas at Boeing Immersion Day and the BUILD finals, scheduled for January 2025. Winners will receive a ₹10 lakh grant to support the development of their ideas.

Mentorship: Boeing mentors and industry experts will work closely with finalists to refine their concepts and suggest ways to transform ideas into viable business offerings.

Eligibility: The programme is open to 2024 university graduates, faculty members, and budding entrepreneurs. Support includes mentorship from Boeing experts, incubation, and opportunities to raise capital.

BUILD Programme Success: In 2023, the programme attracted over 2,200 students and startup enthusiasts, with more than 1,200 innovative concepts submitted. Boeing India continues to foster talent through various initiatives, including the HorizonX India Innovation Challenge and a specialized apprenticeship scheme for aircraft-maintenance engineers.
