GalaxEye, an Indian spacetech startup, has partnered with SpaceX to launch its first Earth observation satellite, Drishti, in 2024. This satellite will feature advanced multi-sensor capabilities, integrating Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Optical/Multispectral Imaging (MSI) technologies. This combination enables the satellite to capture high-resolution imagery in all weather conditions, making it suitable for various applications such as defense, agriculture, disaster management, and environmental monitoring.
Drishti is the first in a planned constellation of five satellites, with the goal of providing sub-1 meter resolution and daily revisits to any location on Earth by 2025. This launch aligns with India’s “Make in India for the World” initiative, reflecting the country’s increasing significance in the global spacetech sector.
GalaxEye’s technology will be integrated into SkyFi’s platform, which simplifies access to Earth observation data for industries. This partnership enhances the availability and utility of satellite imagery, providing critical insights for government and commercial sectors.
The collaboration with SpaceX is a key step in GalaxEye’s plan to offer real-time, high-resolution Earth data to a global audience, advancing satellite-based decision-making across multiple industries.
