Infosys Invests in GalaxEye to Boost Indian Earth Observation Technology

Infosys announced on Sept. 19 a $2 million investment in Indian Earth-observation startup GalaxEye Space as part of its Series A round.

  • GalaxEye celebrated the partnership on LinkedIn, highlighting Infosys' global leadership in technology and innovation. The company stated that Infosys' expertise in digital innovation and engineering complements its mission to reshape Space Technology and Earth Observation. This collaboration will focus on advancing:
    • Satellite Data Fusion
    • AI-driven Analytics
    • Next-Gen Space Technologies
  • GalaxEye is preparing to launch in 2025 what it calls the world’s first multi-sensor Earth-observation satellite, equipped with:
    • Synthetic aperture radar
    • Multispectral sensor (successfully tested on drones)

These combined sensors will give GalaxEye unique capabilities to support the Indian Armed Forces, including:

  • Military camouflage detection
  • Tracking troop movements
  • Surveillance in low-light conditions
  • Founded in 2021 by Suyash Singh and four colleagues from IIT Madras, GalaxEye announced in August that it had raised $6.5 million in its Series A round. The Infosys investment now provides an additional $2 million. The company’s plans were also shared by CEO Suyash Singh at World Satellite Business Week.
