Wellnesys Technologies Private Ltd, nurtured under the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi's incubator, has introduced a yoga mat named 'YogiFi'.

Utilizing sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision (CV) technologies, the mat delivers a customized yoga training experience, as reported by BizzBuss.

The YogiFi mat was recently demonstrated to various Union Ministers, such as External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Railways, I&B and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, representing the Ministry of Science and Technology.

This debut represents a notable progression in home-based yoga practice, allowing users to engage in yoga at any location with the benefit of real-time feedback and instruction.

Featuring a state-of-the-art sensor layer, the YogiFi mat meticulously monitors the user's yoga poses, promptly providing recommendations to improve alignment and posture. This advanced functionality enhances the safety and effectiveness of yoga practice, enabling users to execute poses accurately and gain the full advantages of their yoga routines.

The development of this mat was supported by the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) iHub at IIT Mandi and funded by the NM-ICPS program of the Department of Science and Technology (DST). YogiFi stands as a wholly homegrown innovation, in line with the 'Make in India' campaign. The mat is designed to broaden the reach and engagement in yoga training, offering interactive and personalized classes globally.

The YogiFi Smart Mat is designed to seamlessly integrate with other smart home devices, enriching the yoga environment by adapting lighting, sound, and temperature for an optimal experience. This breakthrough highlights the fusion of traditional wellness methods with contemporary technology, fostering a more immersive and impactful yoga practice.
